What can Bowen can be considered for?
Neck pain, back pain, pelvic pain, hamstring issues, ankle & foot issues, knee problems, sciatica, whiplash, shoulder problems, RSI, digestive conditions, infant colic, tennis elbow, respiratory problems, jaw issues, ear problems, anxiety, headaches, conception issues
How much will it cost?
One person $80 per treatment.
Two persons $140 per treatment. This is 2 people in the same time slot.
How long does a treatment take?
A treatment is 30 - 50min for one person and 50 - 75min for two. First time appointments need to be booked individually.
Treatment table weight rating?
The massage table is rated to 240kg. Please let us know in advance if you exceed this.
What changes will I notice?
After a Bowen treatment it is important to drink plenty of water, you may notice you are more thirsty. You may feel relaxed and fluid. Sometimes the body is achy, this should pass with time & water . It is different for everyone.
Is there anything I should do after my treatment?
Drink plenty of water, and only partake in gentle exercise for 24 - 48hrs after (e.g. walking ,swimming, yoga). We also advise avoiding extremes of hot & cold, (spa pools, ice packs etc). Take your weight evenly on both feet when rising from a seated or sleeping position.
Can I exercise after my treatment?
We recommend only partaking in gentle exercise for 24 - 48hrs after treatment (e.g. walking ,swimming, yoga). If you must exercise then do at 60 - 80% of your normal effort.
Can I have other bodywork?
Better Bodies respects all other forms of body work and healing. We ask clients to leave 4 - 5 days between any other body work treatments and Bowen.
Do I have to take my clothes off?
Treatments can be done through light clothing. There are a couple of moves that require contact with the skin. If this is part of your treatment it will be explained.
What if I cannot lie down?
Bowen can be applied on a treatment bed or in a chair if a person is unable to lie down comfortably.
Can I have a spa/cold plunge after a treatment?
No, we advise avoiding extremes of hot & cold, (spa pools, ice packs etc) as this can shock the body back into fight, flight mode.
